Tacoma Chinook

It all began with a first-generation 1999 Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab that had been poorly merged with a 1980 Chinook fiberglass shell. Out of equal parts curiosity and desperation, I bought it, knowing it wasn't perfect. Once we began tearing it apart, the true extent of the previous workmanship revealed itself. Every panel, bracket, and weld told a story of compromises that needed to be undone.
Instead of walking away, I decided to rebuild it from the ground up.
The result is Lunar Nook—a purpose-built overland camper that blends vintage Chinook character with modern engineering and functionality. The entire build has become a reflection of my belief that design should solve problems while inspiring adventure.

Is this my American Dream? I believe it is.

Lunar Nook is more than a camper conversion—it's a rolling design project, a mobile art studio, and an expedition vehicle built to explore North America one trail at a time. Every modification serves a purpose, balancing functionality, durability, and thoughtful design while proving that even an overlooked project can be transformed into something extraordinary.., it now functions and ready to serve its new owners. Yes it does have a SALVAGE title as the truck was poorly put together when I bought it. After months of passionate work, The last picture is how it was when I bought it. I have invested a lot of money in this rig but due to my health I will not be able to use it anymore. This rig is sold as is.
