“Dunkin”, has been our portable home for over 6 years, taking us all over the US.
We purchased him from the original owner and have made many changes to his looks. The inside was gutted, replacing all flooring, seating, including adding electric leather seats to the cab and replacing the foam in the pull out Twin/Sofa. The over cab bed was replaced with a full size mattress.
The roof was entirely sanded and recoated with 3 coats of Dicor roof sealant in 2017 and regularly maintained with double coats as recently as 2022. Windows and vents resealed and caulked in 2018. He has withstood record rainfall and snowfall and had no water issues. When we were boondocked for any period of time he was under a canopy.
Dunkin’s R22 engine is strong and averages 18mpg hwy. He has climbed the mountains of Colorado, sailed along I-40 through the Cacti Seascapes of New Mexico and Coast to Coast twice.
All lights worked prior to being replaced with battery operated lights.
Propane 4 burner stove with oven used daily, never tried the oven.
Original propane/12v fridge still operational.
New truck and house batteries, replaced this year.
Water works.
Upholstery is all new and paint has been freshly touched up.
Manual transmission 4 speed
New carburetor 2023
Deavers custom leaf springs added 2023
Dunkin has the revised full-floating axle and we have most original manuals and documents.
Our desire was to travel with the smallest ecological footprint possible as well as experience unique lodging experiences, so we mostly drydocked. We’ve slept under indescribable views of the Milky Way in Winnemucca, soaked in free hot springs while watching deer graze in Wyoming, enjoyed the wildlife deep in the Florida forests. We have fallen in love with Dunkin over and over again, and we hope that his new family will share in his unique spirit of wanderlust and adventure!
